Welcome to our site! Here you’ll be able
to find info on what to do and what not to do when choosing
in wall speakers for your home. They are the perfect thing
to add if you are looking to build a good home entertainment
system. With in wall speakers, you add a nice touch to your
experience that you just can’t replicate when watching a
movie, listening to music or playing video
games.
Some of
the best selling speakers are in wall speakers, the
reason being because they now provide performance that is
on par with other speakers while looking great in your
home and blend well into its environment. Don't worry
about giving up audio quality because these speakers work
great and are worth the
time.
The quality of in
wall speakers are now good enough to be considered in
most home entertainment systems. Here are some basic
things you should check for when looking to buy yourself
a pair of in wall speakers for your home so that you can
enjoy that movie, or music even more than
before.
In wall speakers are much like regular speakers but there is
one huge difference, they go into your walls. Don't worry about
them looking bad either, because pretty much all in wall
speakers come with paintable grills so that they'll completely
match the color of your walls and blend right in. They also
usually have a rectangular or circular shape. The biggest thing
people worry about when searching for a pair of in wall
speakers is where they are going to put them. The problem is,
most people tend to put more than two speakers around the room
so this may be an issue. So make sure you get the measurements
down for each in wall speaker you are currently looking at.
Find out if they'll fit inside your walls.
Another few things you'll want to check is the frequency,
power handling, and the sensitivity of each individual speaker.
These can greatly affect your listening experience depending on
what type of movie or music you are listening to. For
frequency, try to find a setup that has 50-20,000 Hz. The human
ear can hear generally only from 20-20,000 Hz. So the lower the
frequency your speakers have, the more of a deep bass and
balanced sound you will hear. For power handling, make sure you
are never feeding more power to your speakers than they can
handle. For example, don't route 300 watts of power through
speakers that can only handle a maximum of 200 watts. This will
cause them to wear out prematurely and you'll probably blow
your speakers. But generally, the higher the power, the better.
Just try to stay within a reasonable range of power. For
speakers, the higher the sensitivity, the better. Speakers with
a higher sensitivity can play louder music without straining
your amp as much.
One other big feature of in wall speakers you should pay
attention to is if the speakers have swiveling tweeters, bass
and treble tone controls, and moisture resistance. Some in wall
speakers will have swiveling tweeters which allow you to angle
the sound toward a preferred spot in your room. This greatly
affects the quality of the sound you are hearing if they are
pointed to the right position. Bass and treble tone controls
give you the luxury of being able to tune and tweak the sounds
coming from them after they have been installed into your
walls. While having moisture resistant speakers will greatly
reduce the wear and tear on them if they are placed in a humid
area such as a bathroom or your kitchen.
So there you have it, the basics of what to look for if you
are in the market for a set of in wall speakers for your home
entertainment system. Make sure you take your time to shop
around for the best deals and get the perfect speakers for your
maximum enjoyment.
In wall speakers are great because when
they are up on the wall, they are higher up and the sound is
able to resonate throughout the whole room, creating a
greater listening experience. I have four wall speakers in
my living room and there is nothing better than watching a
movie and getting the full surround sound with my in wall
speakers.
In wall speakers are also a beautiful
decoration as they blend in with the walls and make your
home look more modern. It is advised to get professional
help when installing these speakers as it is quite difficult
and you may accidently damage your walls if you were to do
it alone.
Some of the greatest in wall speakers are
made by Triad, Dynaudio and Genelec. Some other good brands
include Polk Audio, Sonance and Definitive
Technology.
We’ll take a look at the best
speakers in the market so far:
Definitive Technology UIW RLS II – Uses a
pure aluminum dome tweeter with two 6.5” Pressure-Driven
Bass Radiators and two 6.5” Bass/Midrange Drivers. They
weigh 19 pounds and have a frequency response of 22hz –
30khz. Although it depends on tastes, most people are
extremely happy with these speakers as they are not too
heavy and are able to fit on many areas. For the value, it
is an extremely versatile speaker and provides much value.
It’s not the best but provides good “bang for your
buck”.
Polk Audio 625-RT – A speaker that is for
the budget minded these in wall speakers are moderately
priced and have a grill that is almost invisible. They are
great for blending into your home environment and have
performance standards that will impress most audiophiles.
They also contain high performance tweeters with 15 degree
swivel housing. They are also among the easiest in wall
speakers to install. They also come with a template so you
can do one cut, and drop them in for simplicity. After
installing a pair of these speakers, you won’t even have to
worry about additional drywall work.
Triad Gold/4 Surround – These speakers are
massive, but they also provide an intense experience of
sound unlike anything you’ve imagined. These speakers have a
handsome grill and can be ordered in different color
schemes. If you’re looking for a very high quality sound
experience, these in wall speakers should be sufficient.
They weigh 23 pounds and are 13-3/4” wide and 26-1/4” tall.
They also have four 3” proprietary neodymium midranges, two
1” fabric dome neodymium tweeters and one massive 8” poly
cone woofer.
Episode 700 series
5.1 In Wall Speaker System – In this line of speakers
there are the 300, 500, 700 and 900 series. Although
Episode makes four lines of these in wall speakers, I
feel this one deserves the biggest mention. These
speakers are a huge deal because they appeal to customers
who are looking for an easy installation process (these
speakers are also in-ceiling speakers) and customers who
care about the aesthetics as well as the configuration of
the room. This in wall speaker setup consisted of
Episode’s ES-HT700-IWLCR-6 left, right and center
speakers, their ES-700-ICSURR-6 in-ceiling surround
speakers, a ES-SUB-IW-DUAL8 subwoofers, as well as a 500
Watt EA-AMP-SUB-1D-500 subwoofer amplifier. This setup is
insane! Of course, the hookup and installation process
might be a little tedious and perhaps might not be
finished in a single day’s worth of work. You won’t
regret it though, however, because this is one of the
best in wall speakers system out there right now in terms
of performance, and price. After listening to these
speakers while watching a movie of listening to music,
all I can say is…Holy……Wow (you can replace the word
“wow” with something more vulgar and the effect will be
the same). The experience is very immersive and the
realistic sounds and bass put you into the movie, making
such a great atmosphere.
Genelec AOW312B In
Wall Speakers – Among recording engineers, Genelec is
well known and has created a standard within the speakers
market. Their line-up is quite popular when you look into
any mastering studio. This explains the price when you
look at the AOW312B speakers. They aren’t definitely
aren’t cheap. But when you consider what you’re getting;
a three-way in wall loudspeaker that is 59 inches in
height and almost 16 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and
weighs as much as a small sized magazine model (95
pounds), these are sufficient to do the job. Obviously
when you compare them to the average set of in wall
speakers, they’re massive. But it makes sense; these
eliminate the need to buy anything else other than the
speakers themselves, and an amplifier or receiver. One
drawback I can see with these speakers is that if you’re
looking to install them yourself, it might be a little
beyond your expertise. You’d probably best get the local
dealer to handle most of the installation. Other than
that, once you have these bad boys installed, the first
thing you’ll notice is that they’re nothing like the
average home theater speaker. They’re theater speakers,
which explains why they deliver really big sound as if
you’re at the movies. There is one big difference between
these speakers and movie theater speakers however, they
don’t sound harsh or crackly like movie theater speakers.
The detail of sound is amazing, but without the sharp
noises that tend to hurt your ears like in the movies.
Gunshots are realistic but not too high pitched, sounds
are crisp, clean, and very realistic. If you’re looking
to recreate a movie theater experience in your home,
these sound like a winner and probably one of the best in
wall speakers out there right now.
In wall speakers can be extremely
expensive and you should look around for the best deals you
can get. With careful price matching and a keen eye, you can
grab a deal that is perfect and enjoy having the perfect
entertainment system for your home.
